Born on July 30, 1946, Jeffrey Hammond became the bassist for Jethro Tull from 1971 to 1975, joining the band during one of the most creatively ambitious periods of its career. A longtime friend of Ian Anderson, Hammond had actually chosen painting over music before Anderson convinced him to pick up the bass and join the band. Hammond played on landmark albums including Aqualung, Thick as a Brick, A Passion Play, War Child, and Minstrel in the Gallery. His bass work became part of the increasingly complex progressive sound that established Jethro Tull as one of the most distinctive bands of the 1970s. In 1975, Hammond walked away from the music business and returned to painting, leaving behind a relatively brief but remarkably important five-album run.

Born on July 30, 1971, Brad Hargreaves became the drummer for Third Eye Blind during the band's rise in the mid-1990s. His tight, energetic playing helped provide the rhythmic foundation for a group that combined alternative rock with massive pop hooks and unexpectedly dark lyrical themes. Hargreaves helped drive songs like "Semi-Charmed Life", "Jumper", "How's It Going to Be", and "Never Let You Go". Through lineup changes and decades of touring and recording, he became one of the band's longest-serving members and a constant presence behind the kit.
